Help
No power
No power at all, or in part of your home? First, find out whether it's just you or the whole street.
Where it can come from
- A grid fault: the whole area is out
- The RCD has tripped: all or part of the home is off
- A circuit breaker has tripped: one room or a few sockets are off
- A fuse has blown, on an old fuse box
When to call me
- The breaker or RCD trips again straight away
- Part of the home stays without power although everything is on at the fuse box
- A smell of burning, black marks or noise at the fuse box
- You can't find the fuse box or you're not sure what to do
What you can safely check
Look around
Do the neighbours, the stairwell and the street lights have power? If the whole area is out, it isn't your installation: in Brussels, call Sibelga on 02 274 40 66, 24/7.
Check the fuse box
Is an RCD or a breaker down? Unplug the appliances in the area without power, then switch it back on.
It trips again?
Don't force it. Leave it off and call me: there's a fault to find.
Old fuse box: never replace a fuse with a bigger one, and never with a piece of wire.
