Frequently asked questions
Do new cables need to be pulled?
Not always. Many recent systems run on two wires, so the existing wiring can often be reused.
Can an audio intercom become a video one?
Yes. I replace the street panel and the indoor units, and keep the cables if they're suitable.
Do you work for co-owned buildings?
Yes, for a house as well as a block of flats. I can give you a quote to present to the building manager.
Can I open the door from my phone?
Some video door phones can, with an app. I'll tell you which ones suit your entrance and your wiring.
The intercom has stopped working altogether, what should I do?
First check at the fuse box that its circuit hasn't tripped. If everything is on, call me: I'll find out whether it's the power supply, the street panel or the wiring.
